Law Enforcement Investigates Fatal Collision in Adna Area

Posted

Bunker Creek Road was closed around the 400 block Tuesday as law enforcement investigates the scene of a fatal collision.

Initial investigation indicates the passenger side of an SUV struck a hay truck that was partially in the roadway, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle’s 31-year-old passenger was killed as a result of the crash. No other identifying information about the victim has been released by the sheriff’s office.

At least one other person was transported to the hospital via ambulance, according to a deputy on the scene Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of the SUV reportedly “saw (the hay truck) late and tried to avoid a collision, but the passenger side of the vehicle impacted with the truck,” said Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Field Operations Chief Dusty Breen.

Deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:52 a.m. on Tuesday and were still on the scene at about 1 p.m.
