Late scoring flurry helps Black Hills top Centralia

About eight minutes into the third quarter against Black Hills, Centralia tied the game with a touchdown.

Less than nine minutes of game action later, Black Hills held a commanding lead, one they held onto for a 48-20 win.

The Wolves scored five touchdowns in that nine-minute stretch, including four touchdowns in a span of 5:29 in the fourth quarter to blow the game open.

Before that, Black Hills had overcome a slim 7-0 deficit with two touchdowns in the second.

Jaxsen Beck had a great day throwing the football, as he threw for five touchdowns (and two interceptions) and 240 yards on 19 completions.

Nine different Wolves came down with receptions, including Tristan Deville, who had three catches for 37 yards and a score, and Tyson Creekpaum, who caught two passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.

Aundre Alexander was the only other Black Hills receiver to catch more than two passes, as he hauled in six passes for 35 yards.

Jacob Weller added a boost on the ground, as he rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

Kellen Rooklidge ran in two of Centralia’s touchdowns, as he hit the century mark with 105 yards on 28 carries.

Malcolm Tukes scored the Tigers’ other touchdown, as he recorded 85 yards on just two carries.

Black Hills (2-3, 1-0 2A EvCo) will face Tumwater in the Pioneer Bowl on Friday, Oct. 11 at Tumwater District Stadium, while Centralia (0-5, 0-1 2A EvCo) will return to Tiger Stadium to host Aberdeen.
