The Centralia College men's basketball team was in a tight battle against Grays Harbor on Wednesday, and the Trailblazers used a late run to propel themselves to a 57-48 win.
After an 0-12 start, it’s CC’s second win in their last five games.
Centralia trailed 14-2 after the first seven minutes of the game, but roared back with a 14-0 run to take the lead.
Much of the next 30 minutes of game time was just as back-and-forth, as the game was tied at halftime and 45-41 Grays Harbor with six and a half minutes to play.
From there, a Kevin Williams jumper and Cohen Ballard three kickstarted an 11-0 CC run, and they never looked back.
Williams flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 15 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds, while Shay Brannon hit a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Brannon also blocked three shots.
Andrew Collins scored seven, while Jovany Guzman and Quinton Robinson scored six apiece. Robinson was a presence in the paint off the bench, hauling in six rebounds.
Awan Dut added four points, Ballard finished with three, and Lance Green grabbed seven rebounds and blocked four shots.
CC (2-15, 1-2 NWAC) will hit the road on Saturday to face Highline, and it will be on the road again on Wednesday at Green River. The Trailblazers will be back at home next Saturday, Jan. 25 to host South Puget Sound.
