Jones Pitches Bearcats to Road Win Over Wolves

W.F. West’s Braden Jones threw a nine-strikeout complete game victory and the Bearcats slipped past Black Hills for a 4-2 road win on Tuesday.

Jones allowed just two earned runs on four hits with no walks to counter Wolves ace Joseph Floyd, who also went the distance, giving up three earned runs on eight hits and three walks with two Ks.

The Bearcats used single runs in the second, third, fifth and sixth innings to come back against a Wolves squad that scored both their runs in the bottom of the first.

Brock Bunker led the Bearcats’ attack, going 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI. Gavin Fugate was 2 for 4 with a run and Deacon Miller and Ross Kelley each scored once.

Black Hills two runs came from Parker Termini (1 for 3) and Asher Shortland (0 for 2).

The two teams play each other in a rematch at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, at W.F. West High School.
