In Loving Memory of Verna Sherman: 1949-2023

Posted

Verna Mae Sherman, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, was born on May 9, 1949, and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus March 7, 2023.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Sherman; son, Barry Sherman, and his wife, Teniel; daughter, Heather Sprague, and her husband, Kyle; siblings, Linda Johnson, of Centralia, and Rick Sorensen, and his wife, Janet, of Vancouver; nine grandchildren, Brady, Brooklyn, Mckayla, Giani, Justin, Ian, Vincent, Josiah and Oliver; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Lois Sorensen; aunt, Nina Walberg; uncle, Bob Sorensen; aunt, Ruth Sorensen; and brother-in-law, Ben Johnson.

Whether it was taking road trips, camping or making memories at Disneyland, Verna loved spending time with her family. She always enjoyed cheering on grandkids at their sporting events. She loved playing games and always beat everyone at Scrabble. One of her favorite things to do was listening to the Gaithers with her husband and sister.

Verna was a very special lady who loved her family and friends dearly. She showed this love every day faithfully with her giving heart. There was never a better mama, and she was the one of a kind “Honey Bun” to her husband of 48 years, two months and seven days. ‘Til death do they part was their promise to each other, which they kept. She is now in the arms of Jesus, hearing, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

There will be a service at Claquato Cemetery at 10 a.m. on March 18.
