In loving memory of Thomas Tyler Herd: 1968-2025

Thomas Tyler (Ty) Herd, 57, passed away unexpectedly of cardiac arrest on April 28, 2025, at Multicare Capital Medical Center in Olympia, with his partner, Jana, at his side. He was born on March 18, 1968, in Seattle.

Tyler attended his early school years in Chehalis, attended Napavine Christian School from 1981 to 1983, and graduated from Napavine High School in 1986.

He worked with his dad on construction projects and was employed with UPS, Capital Express, and other airfreight sort and ground operations throughout his career.

Tyler is survived by the longtime love of his life, Jana Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Marie Herd. He is also survived by sisters Cynthia Dunnagan (Johnny), Centralia; Teddie Coleman (Vernon), Owasso, Oklahoma; Bonny Littlefield, Chouteau, Oklahoma; brother, Dan Herd, Auburn, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tyler was known for his love of animals. He adored his three cats, Bo Bo, Calvin, and Lynx. He gave lots of attention and treats to his neighbors' dogs and liked feeding and watching the endless amount of wildlife that flocked to his backyard.

He enjoyed working out at the gym, hanging out with and helping his mechanic friend, John Denton, having barbecues with family and friends, taking trips to the Oregon Coast, and watching old movies. He took a lot of pride in his Toyota Tacoma pickup and kept it in tip-top condition.

Honoring Tyler's request, no funeral service will be held.
