In loving memory of Scott Palmer: 1970-2025

Posted

Scott Edward Palmer passed away in Centralia, Washington, on July 18, 2025. Scott was born to his parents, Loretta Andrew and Jerry Maneri, on April 7, 1970, in Burlington, Iowa, and was later raised by his stepfather, Gene Andrew, after his father passed. He was a beloved spouse, father, and brother and will be missed dearly by friends and family alike.

Growing up in Iowa, Scott Palmer graduated from Burlington High School in the class of 1988. Shortly after, he joined the United States Army and served from June 1988 to June 1992. During his last year of serving, he would meet Annette French while stationed at Fort Lewis shortly before he had to move back to Iowa. Though they didn’t know it then, the two would meet each other again later in their lives.

Scott would marry Mindy De Penning on Nov. 13, 1999, and would spend eight happy years together before Mindy passed in April 2007. During this heartbreak, Annette was there to support Scott, and over the years the two would rekindle their love for one another. The two married on July 4, 2009, in Toledo, Washington, and they would make Toledo their home for 18 years.

A provider for his family, Scott would work at Toledo Hardware and Feed before eventually moving to Michaels Distribution Center in 2021 and worked there until 2025. He loved spending time with his family and especially loved spoiling his grandkids, whom he adored.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Annette Palmer; his parents, Loretta Andrew and Gene Andrew; his sister, Angela Wakeland; his daughters, Star Jazikoff, Jamy Roberts, and Jennifer Mueller; and his six grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Scott is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Maneri.

A celebration of life will be held in Scott’s honor at 1 p.m. Aug. 16 at Funeral Alternatives of Washington, located at 455 North St. Southeast, Tumwater, Washington, 98501.
