It is with the heaviest hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Peter “Pete” Anderson.
After being diagnosed with cancer in May 2020 and a long and courageous four-year battle, Pete passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Pete was born on Nov. 1, 1971, in Lake Forest, Illinois, to Pat and Dan Anderson. After his parents divorced, he moved with his mom and brother, Eric, to Winlock, Washington, where he attended school.
Pete married Michalle McFarland and they had two children: Kayleigh, born Jan. 24, 1996, and Cody on July 16, 1997. He and Michalle divorced in 2007.
Pete was ambitious and hardworking in all of his endeavors and proved it in his day-to-day work and in his enthusiasm for his hot rods. He encouraged everyone he knew to pursue their dreams and to never give up. He was kind, caring, generous, nurturing, funny and passionate. Pete was extremely proud of his children.
Pete is survived by his mother; father; daughter, Kayleigh; son, Cody; brothers; Eric, Clayton Gish and Tim; son-in-law, Tyler Brown; daughter-in-law, Bayley Leffler; grandchildren, Cole, Chase, Leighton and Carter (due Nov. 13); stepsister, Alissa Phillips; his fraternal grandmother, Lois Anderson; nephew, Jake Anderson; niece, Stephanie Parker-Greene; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many, many friends.
To be loved by Pete was a great honor. He will be greatly missed and we will carry him in our hearts always.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. July 26 at Lone Hill Cemetery on Eadon Road in Toledo, with a celebration of life following at 1636 state Route 505, Toledo.
