In Loving Memory of Lawrence ‘Larry’ Smith: 1940-2021

Lawrence “Larry” Farley Smith, 81, of Mossyrock Washington, suddenly passed away at St. Peter Hospital on Oct. 20, 2021, from cardiac arrest. Larry was born in South Bend Washington on Sept. 13, 1940. 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence (Red) K. Smith and Mary Belle Nugent Smith. His siblings who preceded him in death were a half-sister who lived in Texas and an infant baby brother. 

Larry is survived by Lois Goble, his companion and friend; daughters Beverly Coleman (Forrest), Darla Carbaugh (Bruce) and Carmen Smith; grandchildren Kaitlin Garton (Brian), Wyatt Coleman, Charlie Carbaugh (Angela), Dallas Carbaugh and Cheyanne Reith; sisters Dianne Tayler and Marilyn Harper (Fred); and many nieces and nephews, friends who he mentored, and CoCo, his trusty dog. 

As a young man, Larry worked in the woods as a timber faller for 40 years. It was a job he cherished as it allowed him to be out in nature, which he loved. Larry was very proud of his family and he touched many lives. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend. Larry loved his family, many friends and his trusty dog CoCo. 

A celebration of life was held at Brown’s Mortuary in Morton, Washington on Nov. 20, 2021. A graveside service followed after the celebration of life. A catered luncheon was held at Brown's Mortuary.
