Born Jan. 29, 1940, in Riffe, Washington, to Ed and Marcia Bartley, John Wendell Bartley was the sixth of eight siblings.
He graduated from Tenino High School in 1958. He worked at Boeing and a few odd jobs before finishing his career as a mill worker in Washington and Oregon.
John was married twice and had five children: Dale, Scott, John, Christy and Cindy.
He was preceded in death by parents Ed and Marcia; brothers Bob, Bill and Larry; and sisters Donna and Marlene.
John is survived by his brother Dick (Sandra), of Ethel; sister Pat Williams, of Chehalis; and sister-in-law Ileta Eygabroad, of Morton; along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
A celebration of life and potluck will be held Saturday, April 16, at noon at the Mossyrock grange.
There will be a private family graveside service at a later date.
