In loving memory of Joanna Beth Ochs: 1937-2024

On Sept. 29, 2024, Joanna Beth Ochs passed away peacefully at home in Centralia, with family by her side.

Joanna was born on Dec. 12, 1937, in Oklahoma City, to Bishop (Glen) and Lois Waggoner. They moved to Centralia when Joanna was 12 years old. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1955.

Joanna met the love of her life, Bernard, known by those that loved him as Bernie. They were  married on June 8, 1956, and were soulmates until Bernie's passing in 2020. 

Living in Centralia, they raised their three children, Debbie, Ruth and Donald. Joanna loved accounting and worked for Edward D Jones, H&R Block and Mountain View CPA.

Joanna was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family. She had a love for travel and was fortunate to be able to travel with her husband and other family members.

Joanna is survived by her daughters, Debbie Godsey, of Chehalis, and Ruth Clemons, of Bakersfield, California; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Tom (Peggy) Waggoner; and sister, Karen VonSeggern.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Ochs; son, Donald Ochs; granddaughter, Jennifer Flood; and son-in-law, Robert Godsey. 

A celebration of life for Joanna will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. at Centralia Christian Church, 1215 W. Main St., Centralia, Washington.
