In loving memory of George Hausserman: 1930-2025

Posted

George Jacob Hausserman Jr. was born April 14, 1930, in Big Timber, Montana, to George and Sadie (Olson) Hausserman.

He married Arlene Margaret Raappana of Rose Valley, Washington, on Aug. 7, 1953. He lost the love of his life on Sept. 11, 2007, and never remarried.

George and Arlene had two sons, Steven J. and Mitchel J. They both shared his love for hunting and the great outdoors. If you would like to hear any good hunting stories, just talk to his boys.

He also had two daughters, Vicky M. and Denise L. Vicky shared his passion for horseback riding, and they both also loved the outdoors.

George was an avid card player. In his later years, he would play pinochle at the Senior Citizen Center five days a week and Skip-Bo on the weekends. He played to win and often did.

George served in the Army during the Korean War. He was also an active member of the Back Country Horsemen, a life member of the NRA, and a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

He is survived by his two sons, two daughters, 10 grandkids and 15 great-grandkids.

We were blessed with his presence for 95 years. He was called to heaven on July 30, 2025.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the Reconciled Christian Fellowship Church, 130 Morris Road, Randle, Washington.
