Frederic W. Hawes, known to all as “Eric,” passed away on Dec. 1, 2024, at the age of 50. Born on Feb. 19, 1974, in Centralia, Washington, Eric grew up in Rochester, Washington, and graduated from Rochester High School in 1992.

Eric had a lifelong passion for sports, especially golf and baseball. He found purpose and joy in coaching and mentoring young athletes, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of the kids he guided. His love for the game was only rivaled by his love for his family. Eric was a proud father to his four children — Frederic (Deric), Brock, Bethany and Landon — and adored his three grandchildren, Harper, Cannon and Stella.

Eric will be remembered for his passion, his love for competition, and his ability to inspire those around him. Eric was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A service to honor Eric’s life will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 21 at Rochester High School. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate his life and legacy.
