In Loving Memory of Connie Ritter: 1936-2023

Connie Carol (Prilliman) Ritter, passed away on Jan. 10, 2023, in Winlock, Washington. She was 86 years old and had been a Lewis County resident since 2017. Connie married Calvin Sylvester Ritter on Aug. 9, 1954. He preceded her in death in 2007. 

They moved from Bremerton, Washington to Clallam County in 1959 where Connie worked at Whites Cove and various other restaurants in the area until 1970 when she began working in the kitchen at the Clallam Bay School fiDistrict in 1970, finishing her career as the head cook in 1996. 

Following her retirement, Connie continued to work as a paraeducator substitute until 2011. In addition to her employment with the school, she was also a volunteer for the football and basketball teams beginning in 1992. She kept all of the statistics for the players and team, and traveled thousands of miles cheering on the Clallam Bay Bruins. 

Connie is survived by her children Calvin Arthur Ritter, Andrew Ritter and Doreen Adam; grandchildren Justin Ritter, Lindsay Greene, Calvin A. Ritter, Jennifer Ritter, Tasha Heikkila, Tina Heikkila and Chad Heikkila; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister Janice (Monty) Williams; four brothers, Richard “Jake” (Jonna) Jacobson, Ed (Loretta) Jacobson, Ward (Ruth) Jacobson and Marty (Sundee) Jacobson; sister-in-law Eunice Halverson; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Also preceding her in death were her parents Harris “Hap” and Charlotte L. Jacobson, brother Robert R. Jacobson, grandson Calvin E. Ritter and great-grandson Austin Ritter. 

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, at Odd Fellows Memorial Park, 3802 Cleveland Ave. SE, Tumwater, Washington. A family gathering will follow at the home of Richard and Jonna Jacobson in Olympia, Washington. 

In lieu of flowers, Connie requested donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or support woundedwarriorproject.org

The entire family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful care provided to Connie since November 2020 by Betty and Mike Kitchen, their entire family and staff at Caregivers 4 Mom & Dad, who treated her like a member of their family. We are forever grateful.
