Chronicle photographer Ridley Hudson traveled to Silver Lake in Cowlitz County on Thursday to capture these photos of the local landscape, wildlife and folks enjoying the  clear skies at sunrise. 

To reach Silver Lake from Interstate 5, take Exit 49, go east on state Route 504 for 7.2 miles, turn right on Kerr Road and go 0.5 miles to lake access. Public fishing, boat access and a fishing dock are available.
