A virtual event discussing how to prepare for emergencies on farms will be presented by the Tumwater-based Community Farm Land Trust on Oct. 27 at 6 p.m.

Topics covered will include protecting family, land, livestock and pets from threats and civil disturbances, hazardous materials, fires, weather, power outages, health emergencies and suicide.
Speakers will hail from the WSU Skagit County Extension, Thurston Conservation District and the City of Olympia Emergency Management Division.
