At lunchtime on Friday, nearly 100 Lewis County employees walked in honor of longtime coworker Lori Pulver, who is fighting breast cancer.

Along Main Street, windows on the courthouse were decked with signs reading “PULVERIZE CANCER.”

With October known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, donations collected as part of the event will be given to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization for research, treatment and early detection of breast cancer. As of Thursday, $4,700 had been raised, according to a news release from the county.

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Association said in the release that Pulver has been a strong supporter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the past, sponsoring and fundraising for Team Summer Sunshine for many years.
