Fern Leone Mohoric: 1919-2021

Posted
Fern Leone Mohoric passed away peacefully on May 21, 2021 at the age of 101 1/2. She was born on September 12, 1919 in Boistfort, Wash. Fern graduated from Boistfort High School in 1937 and married her high school sweetheart, the late Joe Mohoric, on June 18, 1938.
She and Joe took over Fern's family's farm in 1948 and when Joe retired they moved to the Stillwater Estates in Centralia.
Fern was well-known for her musical talent. She was an amazing piano player. Throughout her long life, she enjoyed "jam" sessions with her brothers and friends. Fern was a member of several bands that played for many, many community dances. In her later years she also played at the Lewis County Senior Center each week. The Senior Center provided much entertainment to members of the community and it became a large part of Fern and Joe's social life.
As much as Fern loved music, it was second to her family. She loved her family deeply, at times hugging them so tight it would take their breathe away. She would cancel any of her plans if family was coming in to town to visit.
Fern is survived by Karen Mohoric; grandchildren Kim Mohoric Wagner and Joel Mohoric; great-grandchildren Tucker Wagner, Paiton Wagner, and Makenzi Mohoric; and great great-granddaughter Meadow Rose Dillinger.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe; sons Glen Mohoric and Gary Mohoric; brothers Sharon Crocker, Clyde Crocker, Earl Crocker, Jack Crocker and Benjamin Crocker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fern was a member of the Boistfort Helping Hands Club, Boistfort Community Church and Lewis County Senior Center.
There was an private-family graveside service on June 12, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Lewis County Senior Center.
