Earl Ray Richter

Earl Ray Richter was born on Aug. 2, 1949 in Centralia, Wash.  He was raised and attended school in Centralia.  He graduated from Centralia High School in 1967.  In his younger years, he liked to hunt, fish, and spend time outdoors.  After graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lofberg during the Vietnam War.  During his service, he traveled through the Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia as well as Japan where he climbed Mount Fuji.  After serving his country, Earl was a sheetrock installer and a painter for 30 years.  Earl is survived by his wife, Nancy and two daughters, Arikka and Anna at home in Rochester, his son, Christopher (Susan) and daughter, Natasha that live in Bothell.  He is also survived by step-children, Treasure (Ken) Koontz in Olympia, Tara Garcia-Munoz in Chehalis, TJ Nelson, Elma, sister, Carol (Mike) Riordan in Littlerock, brothers, Bill (Carol Ann) Richter in Puyallup and Ray (Hilda) Richter in Bucoda.  Earl is also survived by his father, Ray “Bud” and wife, Dru Richter, Centralia and grandchildren, Natasha, Rebekka and Alexis and many nieces and nephews.  Earl was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Richter and his mother, “Charlotte” Richter.  He was very proud of his son, Chris and new addition, Natasha.  He adored his two daughters and all their school and sporting activities.  He loved all his kids and loved to know how and what they were doing in their lives.  Earl was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Rochester.

A memorial service will be held on Dec. 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Rochester, Wash.  A potluck reception will follow.
