Rochester senior Levi Jennings put up an impressive performance with a second-place finish and the Warriors placed four runners in the top 10 to win a three-team cross country meet at Stan Hedwall Park on Wednesday.

Rochester won with 31 points, Tumwater was second with 44 and W.F. West was third with 50.

Jennings’ time of 17:38.08 was second only to Tumwater winner John Hoffer (17:17.67). Jennings led on the final lap but was unable to hold off the surge of Hoffer.

“I felt good,” Jennings said. “I usually struggle at the end finishing the race, so it’s kind of hard, especially when you have a guy pass you. I tried to make a gap between him but he caught up at the end.”

Warriors’ teammate Gabe Stuard placed fourth (18:40.62), Gunnar Morgan was fifth (18:45.28) and Taydee Evenstar was eighth (19:20.05).

W.F. West’s Henry Jordan was the top Bearcats’ finisher, placing third in a time of 18:21.55.

Henry Jordan ran a stellar senior last home meet,” W.F. West coach Amber Cruzan said. “He's starting to look stronger.”

Bearcats’ teammate Jaysen Miles was sixth (18:46.69) and Damian Carroll was seventh (19:06.41).
