With 29 points on Tuesday night, W.F. West High School senior Julia Dalan became the school’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing former teammate Drea Brumfield in a 57-27 victory over Montesano.

The 6-foot-4 forward and Portland recruit did it against the Bulldogs, the same team she set the school record for most points in a single game. The Bearcats (2-0) went up 21-7 after the opening frame and never looked back.

“That’s a really cool accomplishment for her,” W.F. West head coach Kyle Karnofski said. “The program is super proud of her.”

Dilyn Boeck and Kaitlyn Chloupek each added 12 points and did most of their damage in the opening eight minutes. The sophomores combined for 15 points.

“Press set the tone,” Karnofski said. “Executed really well defensively, kept it really simple.”
