The Conservative Ladies of Washington are hosting a candidate town hall this Thursday for those running to represent Southwest Washington in the U.S. House of Representatives.

According to the organization, incumbent Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, has been invited, along with challengers Joe Kent, Heidi St. John and Wadi Yakhour.

“We did not receive a response from Representative Beutler’s campaign and Ms. St. John is unable to join us for this event due to a scheduling conflict,” a news release stated.

“We are excited to hear from Joe Kent and Wadi Yakhour and invite the Centralia community to come out to listen to these two candidates.”

Both Kent and Yakhour announced their candidacy in response to Herrera Beutler’s vote to impeach former president Donald Trump, and have drawn support from a crowd leaning further right than Herrera Beutler.

The event will be held at Pathway Christian Church, 1416 South Scheuber Road, Centralia, at 6:30 p.m.
