Annual Adna High School Veterans Day Assembly

Nov. 8 at Adna High School, 121 Adna School Road, Adna; 8:45 a.m.

Jonathan Lu will be the guest speaker at the assembly. Lu is a first-generation immigrant who enlisted in the U.S. Army as a combat medic and became a Green Beret.

 

Greater Chehalis Food Bank Annual Meeting

Nov. 8 at the food bank, 750 SW 21st St., Chehalis; 9:30 a.m.

The public is invited to attend the annual meeting for the food bank.

 

Veterans Day Program at Winlock Miller Elementary School

Nov. 9 at Winlock Miller Elementary School, 405 NW Benton Ave., Winlock; 9 a.m.

Veterans are invited to the program.

 

Master Gardener Presentation

Nov. 9 at Chehalis Fire Station #6, 2123 Jackson Highway, Chehalis; 11 a.m.

The Friendly Neighbors Garden Club invites the public to a presentation by Art Fuller, Cowlitz County Master Gardener. The presentation will be on the Integrated Pest Management approach to garden pests.

 

Free Lacrosse Clinic

Nov. 9 at NW Sports Hub, 701 Allen Ave., Centralia; 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Free lacrosse clinic for children in first through eighth grade. The clinic is hosted by Twin Cities Lacrosse, which is currently in its third year of serving the community.

 

Veterans Day Program at Winlock High School/Middle School Gym

Nov. 10 at Winlock High School/Middle School, 241 N Military Road, Winlock; 9:30 a.m.

Veterans are invited to the program.

 

Veterans Day Program at Toledo High School Gym

Nov. 10 at Toledo High School gym, 1242 State Route 505, Toledo; 9:30 a.m.

Veterans Are invited. All Toledo schools will be present. Refreshments will follow the program.

 

Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce Forum

Nov. 10 at O’Blarney’s, 221 N. Tower Ave., Centralia; 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Forum on Thursday, Nov. 10 will feature Cheryl Heywood, the executive director of the Timberland Regional Library, who will discuss the library’s business resources.

 

Newaukum Golf Course Veterans Day Event

Nov. 11 at the Newaukum Golf Course, 153 Newaukum Golf Drive, Chehalis

On Veterans Day the Newaukum Golf Course will be honoring those who have served by offering free golf to all veterans, including both nine and 18 hole rounds as well as small buckets for the driving range. There will be rental clubs available for any veteran who does not have their own clubs. There will also be complimentary coffee and pastries in the morning. It is important to call ahead to schedule a tee time.

 

Veterans Day at the Wall of Honor

Nov. 11 at Kemp Olson Park, S 6th St., Toledo; 11 a.m.

The event is open to the public and veterans are invited. Refreshments will be served immediately following the program at the Toledo Senior Center.



 

Trinity Rebekah’s Holiday Bazaar

Nov. 11 and 12 at 111 W. Washington St., Napavine; Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdy, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Vendors and crafts will be present and a quilt raffle will be held. On Friday a full turkey dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $15. On Saturday turkey noodle soup will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $10. For more information, call Alberta at 360-219-7629.

 

American Legion Veterans Day Program

Nov. 11 at The American Legion Grant Hodge Post, 111-1/2 W. Main St., Centralia; 10:30 a.m.

The American Legion Grant Hodge Post will have a Veterans Day program at 10:30 a.m. followed by a bean feed. The program is free and open to the public. The bean feed is by donation.

 

Veterans Memorial Museum Veterans Day Program

Nov. 11 at the Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis; Noon

The program will start at noon with a free concert and will be followed by the main program at 2 p.m. Museum founder Lee Grimes will be present and there will be a guest speaker. The Veterans Journey Forward program will be discussed.

 

Adna Grange Veterans Day

Nov. 11 at the Adna Grange, 123 Dieckman Road, Adna; 4 to 6 p.m.

The Adna Grange will honor veterans on Veterans Day. At 4 p.m., there will be a pie and ice cream social, a dessert auction and a concert featuring Danny Vernon and his “Illusion of Elvis.” The entry cost is $20 per person. Attending veterans will be entered into a raffle drawing.

 

Runway Boutique’s One Year Anniversary Event

Nov. 12 at Runway Boutique, 383 NW Chehalis Ave., Chehalis; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Runway Boutique will celebrate its one year anniversary. Owner Chante Evander will be present to celebrate with refreshments.

 

Corn Hole Tournament Fundraiser

Nov. 12 at Dick’s Brewing, 3516 Galvin Road, Centralia; 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Twin Cities Sertoma and Reliable Enterprises will host a corn hole tournament for the In-Tot Development Center to support hearing and speech screenings for toddlers. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. and the event lasts from noon to 3 p.m.There will be beer and food, prizes, a raffle, and four round robin games. The cost is $25 per person. The event is for those who are 21 or older.

 

Veterans Thanksgiving Meal

Nov. 12 at the Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis; noon to 2 p.m.

The meal is free and will be hosted by the Centralia Bible Baptist Church. Attendees are encouraged to register ahead of time at http://www.centraliabbc.org/ so enough food can be prepared.

Nov. 14 at the Church of the Nazarene; 1119 W.  First St., Centralia; noon to 1:30 p.m.

A luncheon and fellowship for women. Jacki Jewell, the executive director of the Visiting Nurses Foundation will share about her organization. Gerri McGill will share her story of medical mission trips to Central America. Attendees are asked to make their reservations early by calling Kay at 360-269-2449 or Val at 360-748-4722.

 

Berg Marketing Group Ribbon Cutting

Nov. 15 at 827 Marsh Ave., Centralia; 3 p.m.

The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Berg Marketing Group on Nov. 15. Owners Amanda and Ryan Berg will be on hand to celebrate their grand opening with refreshments, apparel sales, marketing package discounts and a giveaway.

 

Charlie Albright Holiday Fundraising Concert for the Centralia College Foundation

Nov. 18 at the Corbet Theatre, 600 Centralia College Blvd., Centralia; 7:30 p.m.

World-renowned pianist and Centralia College graduate Charlie Albright will perform at a fundraiser for the Centralia College Foundation. Tickets are $40 for general admission and a limited number of VIP reception tickets with ALbright are available for $75. All proceeds benefit student scholarships and the Charlie Albright Piano Fund.
