Interactive Workgroup for Parents of Children With Disabilities

Nov. 10 at the Jenson Memorial Event Center, Veterans Memorial Museum at 100 SW Veterans Way; 5:30 to 7 p.m.

This class is hosted on the second Wednesday of every month until May, except December, by Reliable Enterprises and Lewis County Public Health and Social Services. Topics include preparing for graduation and other transitions, social security, employment supports and more. Lewis County Cemetery District #1 Monthly Meeting

Nov. 10 at the cemetery office, 407 Cowlitz Road, Winlock; 7 p.m.

These meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month.

 

Veterans Day Celebration

Nov. 11 at the Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Veterans Memorial Museum is inviting all community organizations to set up promotional advertising booths and displays in its parking lot to help local veterans know what is available to them. Admission to the gallery will be free for the entire day.

 

Chehalis/Centralia Optimists Thanksgiving Bowling Tournament

Nov. 13 at Fairway Lanes, 1501 S. Gold St., Centralia; 1 to 4 p.m.

Bowlers must be ages 10 and older, have $50 in scholarships and pay $11 per three games. Prizes for worst bowler, best bowler and many other categories. Register before Nov. 12, by calling 360-669-3386.

 

Fern Hill Bluegrass Band Concert Honoring Veterans

Nov. 13 at the Adna Grange Hall, 123 Dieckman Road, Chehalis

Spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m., concert at 7 p.m. Cost is $15 per person.

 

Hiring Fair

Nov. 16 at the Holiday Inn, 730 Liberty Place, Chehalis; 12 to 4 p.m.

Leaf Exchange and Styrofoam Recycling



Nov. 20 at the Central Transfer Station at 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m

Crafty Creations Craft Fair

Nov. 20 and 21 at the Newaukum Grange, 104 Brown Road E., Chehalis; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday

Vendors will sell handmade candles, jewelry, knitted or crocheted items, glass works, clothing and more. There will be cookies, coffee and soda for vendors and guests.

Turkey Bingo

Nov. 20 at the Chehalis Eagles, 1993 S. Market Blvd., Chehalis; 4 to 6 p.m.

This annual turkey bingo, hosted by Twin Cities Rotary Club, is open to the public. There will be 11 games in total, at $1 per card for the first ten and $2 for each card in the final blackout game.

Prizes include turkeys, smaller prizes for kids and $300 for the blackout.

 

The Turkey Trot

Nov. 25 at Thorbeckes Wellness Center, 91 SW Chehalis Ave., Chehalis; 8 a.m.

Walk, run or trot in this 5K hosted by Althauser Rayan Abbarno, LLP that begins at Chehalis Thorbeckes. Register for $20 at any Thorbeckes location by Nov. 9 to guarantee a shirt. The cost for immediate families of any size is $35, and comes with two shirts plus $8 per extra shirt.

 

Onalaska Volunteer Fire Fighters Association Bazaar

Dec. 3 and 4 at 1733 St. Hwy 508; Onalaska; 6 to 12 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday

Breakfast With Santa

Dec. 4 at Moose Family Center, 1400 Grand Ave., Centralia; 8 to 11 a.m.

Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, applesauce, juice, coffee and hot chocolate will be served at this fundraiser for Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. Santa will arrive at 8:30. Suggested donation for adults is $7, children ages 4 through 12, $4. Free for kids under 3. Wreaths for sale by Lewis County Work Opportunities. Bring your own camera.

 

Winlock-Vader Food Bank Drive n Drop

Dec. 4 at the corner of Front and Fir Streets in Winlock and the Vader Assembly of God Church at 302 Sixth St., Vader; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Drive up and drop off donations. The highest priority items are personal care products such as shampoo, toothpaste and other toiletries.

Monetary donations can also be made. The food bank can purchase food for as low as 10 cents per pound. For more information, call 360-880-7122.
