Lewis County Cemetery District #1 Monthly Meeting

Oct. 13 at the cemetery office, 407 Cowlitz Road, Winlock; 7 p.m.

These meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month.

 

Monthly Business Forum

Oct. 14 at O’Blarney’s Irish Pub, 221 N. Tower Ave., Centralia; 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Attendance costs $5, lunch for $17. State Rep. Peter Abbarno and State Farm agent Chris Forespring will be providing an informative presentation on the new long-term care tax coming in 2022.

 

Fall Community Garage Sale

Oct. 16 at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds; 8 a.m. for $5, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $3

Up to 300 vendor booths all indoors or under cover. This is the first sale at the fairgrounds since fall of 2019 and is highly anticipated. Vendor spaces are approximately 10 by 10 feet and are still available for $45 each. For more information, call the fair office at 360-740-2655.

 

Harvest Market

Oct. 16 at the Jester Auto Museum, 321 Hamilton Road, Chehalis; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Free to the public. Over 55 local vendors will sell jewelry, handmade soaps, candles, food and more. Contact geminieventsanddesign@gmail.com for vendor inquiries.

 

Pyrex Swap Meet

Oct. 16 at the Adna Grange Hall, 123 Dieckman Road, Chehalis; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sell or buy used Pyrex of all sorts. There is no entry fee for swap meet buyers, sellers pay $9 for a table.

 

Pumpkin Train Rides

Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 1101 SW Sylvenus St., Chehalis,; 12 and 1:30 p.m.

Pumpkin train rides cost $16 per person, ages 2 and under ride free.

Warm costumes encouraged, masks required. Ages 15 and under receive a pumpkin and can participate in a costume contest. Indoor and outdoor seating available. To reserve tickets in advance, visit SteamTrainRide.com.

 

Oktoberfest Celebration

Oct. 16 at the Logan Hill Grange Hall, 105 Hewitt Road, Chehalis; 1 p.m.

In celebration of the Logan Hill Grange’s thousandth meeting, bratwurst and sauerkraut, baked beans, soft pretzels, apple strudel and cider will be served. Live music will be played by the Dills Family Band.

Attendance costs $10 per adult, kids under 12 are free.

 



Movie in the Park — Hocus Pocus

Oct. 19 at the Legion lawn, Mineral; 7 p.m.

All ages welcome. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs and snacks.

 

Ryderwood’s Fall Arts and Crafts Fair

Oct. 22 and 23, at Community Hall, 305 Morse St., Ryderwood; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Up to 30 vendors will participate in this annual arts and crafts fair.

Trunks with Treats

Oct. 30 at the Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis; 4 to 8 p.m.

The whole family is invited to an evening of trick-or-treating among classic cars and trucks with trunks full of candy. More trick-or-treating opportunities will be available inside the museum’s gallery, which will be open to the public.

According to the museum, it is the “perfect time to wear a mask.”

 

Movies by the Dashboard Light — Rocky Horror Picture Show

Oct. 30 at the Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis; 8 p.m.

The Veterans Memorial Museum shows car-themed films at this drive-in movie theater on the last Saturday of the month. First-come, first-served. Admission is by donation to the museum. Popcorn, drinks and food available. For more information, call 360-740-8875.

 

Trunk or Treat in  Mineral

Oct. 31 Front St., Mineral; 5 to 7 p.m.

Hot cider, pumpkin decorating, games and candy will be free for all ages. Donations welcome. To participate as a trunk, contact Chantell at the Mineral Market at 360-492-3237.

Chehalis/Centralia Optimists Thanksgiving Bowling Tournament

Nov. 13 at Fairway Lanes, 1501 S. Gold St., Centralia; 1 to 4 p.m.

Bowlers must be ages 10 and older, have $50 in scholarships and pay $11 per three games. Prizes for worst bowler, best bowler and many other categories. Register before Nov. 12, by calling 360-669-3386.

 

Crafty Creations Craft Fair

Nov. 20 and 21 at the Newaukum Grange, 104 Brown Road E., Chehalis; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday

Vendors will sell handmade candles, jewelry, knitted or crocheted items, glass works, clothing and more. There will be cookies, coffee and soda for vendors and guests.
