College Hoops: Centralia Men Top Highline in Season Opener

Posted

Freshman Colby White scored a team-high 18 points as Centralia College held off Highline for an 87-81 season-opening win at home on Friday in Northwest Athletic Conference West Region action.

Sophomore Jimmy Harding added 16 points for the Trailblazers and sophomore Jameel Morton contributed 15 points and was 10-for-10 at the free-throw line. Former Toledo High School star and All-Area MVP Fano Arceo-Hansen chipped in 12 points.

“What I’m most impressed with this young team is how hard they work,” Centralia coach Jason Moir said. “The energy they put on the court is unbelievable. This is probably one of the hardest-working teams we’ve had here, from top to bottom. They’re physical, they play hard and they play for each other.

The Trailblazers (1-0) get back to work when they travel to Grays Harbor College at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
