The Chehalis School Board is accepting applications now through Monday, June 7, from candidates interested in filling a seat left vacant by the recent departure of Brennan Bailey, a 2008 W.F. West graduate and Toledo School District teacher.
The candidate chosen by majority vote of the existing board will serve out the rest of Bailey’s term, which expires at the end of the year. Candidate filing for the upcoming election ended Friday, May 21.
A qualified applicant must be a registered voter who is currently living in Chehalis School District’s Director District No. 2. A letter of interest, resume and list of three references and their contact information is also suggested.
That information can be dropped off at the district office or sent over to district administrative support secretary Gayle Meister at gmeister@chehalisschools.org.
Board members are expected to attend regular meetings on the third Tuesday of every month. They also attend executive sessions, study meetings and many other education-related events throughout the school year.
