Chehalis-Centralia Railroad and Museum to Host Stationary Train Dinner

Posted

The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad and Museum will offer an evening of dinner and music on a stationary 1920s dining car train Saturday, March 25, at 5 p.m.

The dinner costs $66 to attend and is limited to 48 guests. The meal includes three courses and musical entertainment. Guests can choose an entree of either roasted chicken with potatoes or fettuccine alfredo.

After dinner, attendees can go to the passenger car and listen to musician Seth Eldredge while drinking fresh fruit-infused water.

“We are all eagerly awaiting the green light to begin our rail excursions. In the meantime, allow this live performance to transport you back in time as you enjoy food, friends, and fun aboard our historic Dinner Train — at the depot!” the dinner announcement stated.

The event will last about two hours. Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly as the trains are unheated. Though the train will not move, there will be a No. 6 diesel engine and two dining cars. The train will be parked at the depot where the accessible loading platform provides easy access to the train. Americans with Disabilities Act access is limited. Call ahead for details.

Tickets can be purchased at steamtrainride.com. Online sales for the dinner close on March 21. No walk-up tickets are available.

The train station is located off Exit 77 at 1101 SW Sylvenus St. in Chehalis, across from the Veterans Memorial Museum. Parking is free.
