Centralia’s Zander and Jacoby Corwin added another title to their resume on Friday in Vancouver, as the two won the 2A District 4 Doubles Tournament.
The Corwin’s won 6-1, 6-0 and 6-4, 6-0 on their way to the championship match, and in that match, they beat Columbia River’s Nate Little and Noah Coakes 6-4, 6-2.
On the singles side, the best area finisher was Javyn Han, who won 6-1, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-3 on his way to the championship game before falling to Columbia River’s Lucas Walburn 6-0, 6-2 in the final.
Tumwater’s Bodie Jackson finished third, winning his first-round matchup 6-3, 6-4 before falling in the semifinals. He bounced back with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Ridgefield’s Brody Wolski in the third-place match.
A pair of Tumwater duos finished in fourth and fifth in the doubles bracket. Max Bunn and Luke Houk bounced back from a first-round loss before losing to teammates Kaleb Petersen and Cody Lambert.
Petersen and Lambert’s win got them into the third-place game, which they lost to place fourth, while Bunn and Houk won the fifth-place game against W.F. West’s Bryce Kuykendall and Braden Newman 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.
Both of those T-Bird duos will have to wait until the spring to see if they make the state tournament, as the district won’t know for sure how many bids they get until then.
