Centralia Tops Adna in Stormy Scramble Match

The Centralia girls golf team defeated Adna on Monday in a non-league team scramble match at Riverside Golf Course 108-110. After only playing six holes due to a battle with green conditions and weather, the Tigers came out with a team victory by two strokes.

Due to the scramble rules of the match, the two varsity teams paired up with a teammate to form two-girl teams. The best performance of which came from Adna’s Natalie Humphrey and Miriam Wilson, who shot a match-best performance of 32 strokes through six holes on Riverside's front nine.

Parker Feist and Jaylee Humphrey of Adna finished on 33 strokes to tie Centralia’s Samantha Johnston and Emily Wilkerson. Following on the Centralia team scorecard was Tess McMurry and Lilly Ferch with a score of 36. Melissa Mora, who was without a partner, shot a lone score of 39.

Molly Matoyoshi and Jordanne Moon finished with 45 strokes to round things out for the Pirates.

The Pirates will be right back at the course Tuesday afternoon to take on Ilwaco in another team match at Riverside Golf Course, right where the Tigers will be Wednesday to take on Black Hills.
