Centralia Students Compete in Future Chef Competition

Centralia elementary school students competed in the Sodexo Future Chef competition on Wednesday night.

“The Future Chef event hosted by Sodexo Wednesday night was a huge success,” the school district reported on Facebook. “Special thanks to our judges, Tami Grubs and Julie Iverson, for taking time out of your evening to support our students. And to Marlene Lord, Betty Rivas, Roberta Sjoblom and Heidi Rheaume for providing support, culinary expertise and encouragement to the student contestants.”

Winning first place was Elizabeth Snell of Edison Elementary for her Harry Potter mini pies. Second place was awarded to Justin Villa-Mason of Oakview Elementary for his Asian rolls. Third place went to Corbyn James Ross for his Mulan-themed egg fried rice. Cat Crandall, of Oakview Elementary, won fourth place for s’mores banana boats. Madison Reighert, of Washington Elementary, came in fifth for arepas and Kaitlyn Bingisser, of Jefferson-Lincoln Elementary, landed in sixth place for her carrot cake.
