A 38-year-old Centralia man died at the scene of a crash on Jackson Highway Wednesday night.
The driver, whose name has not yet been released by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, was driving a 2004 Chevy Silverado at 10:15 p.m. when an accident occurred in the 3000 block of Jackson Highway, according to the sheriff’s office.
The initial reporting party said they heard what sounded like a collision before the power went out in the surrounding residential area.
The crash is still under investigation, but Washington State Patrol’s initial findings indicate the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to impact, according to the sheriff’s office.
