A Centralia man convicted for interacting with a decoy account for a 15-year-old on a dating website in May has been released on community supervision following the completion of his jail sentence.

The defendant, 66-year-old Dennis F. Thompson, had arranged to meet the decoy 15-year-old at a Centralia business to “go to Thompson’s storage unit nearby to have sex,” according to court records.

Thompson entered a guilty plea to one count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes on Aug. 18 and was sentenced Sept. 29 to 77 days in jail with credit for 77 days already served since his arrest in July.

He will serve 12 months in community supervision.
