The family of Monte Kent invites family, friends and former classmates for a celebration of Monte’s life.
Monte E. Kent was born on Oct. 8, 1939, in Colfax, California, to Nathan and Idalene Kent.
Monte passed away on Aug. 30, 2023, at his home in Alta, California.
He attended Toledo High School and Centralia College. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Monte and his wife had a home built in Alta, California. He volunteered 20 years in the community. He was a volunteer firefighter for seven years, fire chief for three years and fire commissioner for 10 years. He also served his church as a volunteer.
He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Linda; daughter, Brenda; brother, Michael (Rosemarie) Kent; sisters, Beverly Beaber and Rosemary Thorson; and cousins, nephews and nieces who he dearly loved.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. June 22, 2024, at the Toledo Senior Center. A potluck meal will be served.
