With sadness in our hearts, we said goodbye to Carl Dean Parnell, 67, on Jan. 24, 2016. He was born to James and Marie Parnell in Chehalis, Washington March 27, 1948.

Carl was raised in Onalaska and lived his entire life there. He raised two kids and was overjoyed to be a part of his grandchildren's lives. Many of his school friends stayed lifelong friends.

Carl touched so many lives in the community with his kindness, helpful nature, knowledge of fishing and hunting.

He married Leslie Goodwyn, Dec. 7, 1968 in Onalaska. They had a daughter, Teresa and son, Wes.

Carl is survived by his wife, Leslie Parnell of Onalaska; daughter, Teresa Jordan (Joey) of Olympia; son, Wes Parnell of Napavine; mother, Marie Parnell of Onalaska; brother, Cary Parnell (Kathy) of Wenatchee; grandchildren, Tess Bunch (Corey) of Vilseck, Germany, Josh Curran of Olympia and Jasmine Curran of Ellensburg; step-grandchildren, Trevor and Laitan Jordan of Tenino.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Parnell in 2002.

Recently, he expressed his thoughts and memories that he did everything he wanted to do, seen everything, hunted all the deer, caught all the fish and lived a full life.

A celebration of life and potluck will be held Jan. 30, 2016, 4:00 p.m., at the Onalaska Community Presbyterian Church, 288 Carlisle Ave., Onalaska, WA 98570.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be used towards a granite monument for Carl.
