Cardinals Win Last Game of Season Over North River

Posted

Playing in one last game to close out its year at home, the Winlock boys basketball team defeated North River, 84-48 Wednesday night.

The Cardinals got 24 points from senior Payton Sickles and 12 points and 13 assists from eighth-grader Landon Cline in a well-rounded offensive night.

“All of our guys got some minutes today,” coach Cole Doughty said. “Our seniors Sickles and Scofield both had good games to end their careers and have been great leaders all year.”

While Sickles poured in a game-high 24, Scofield scored 10 points in his last hoops game for the Cards.

Freddy Patching also knocked down a trio of triples and finished with 13 points.

The Cardinals finish the season at 7-13 after just one win a year ago.
