Cardinals top T-Wolves for first win

The Winlock baseball team snapped its nine-game losing streak on Wednesday, piling on late to top Morton-White Pass 19-9 for its first win of the season.

MWP scored the first three runs of the game, but Winlock responded with three in the third to tie it. 

Over the next three innings, the two teams went back-and-forth. It was 4-4 after four, 8-7 MWP after five, and 13-9 Winlock after six.

The Cardinals pulled away for good with another six-spot in the seventh, securing their first win of the season.

Kyrn Meehan pitched the final two and two-thirds for Winlock, allowing no hits and an unearned run while striking out seven. Carter Svenson tallied two hits at the plate, driving in one run and scoring two others.

Laith Pelletier hit two doubles and scored three runs for MWP, while Carson Fleetwood drove in two.

MWP (0-8, 0-8 C2BL) and Winlock (1-9, 1-8 C2BL) will face off again on Friday in Winlock.
