Winlock tallied just three hits on the day as the Cardinals couldn’t overcome Kalama’s pitching in a 12-0 defeat in five innings during Wednesday’s season opener at home.

Senior Mekhi Morlin pitched for the Cardinals, taking the loss, but went 2 for 2 at the plate. Cole Fray-Parmantier was 1 for 2 with a walk.

Kalama was led by Keaton Fisher, who was 2 for 2 with a home run, a double and two walks. Todd Tabor smacked a double and Gavin McBriar went 2 for 4.

Winlock (0-1) will look to turn things around when it heads to Adna for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. on Monday.
