South Thurston County had a number of races on the ballot this election cycle, most of which were uncontested. The only contested races were for the mayor’s office and a position on town council in Bucoda.
The results released on Wednesday night show Mayor Alan Carr has 80 percent of the vote (106 votes) with his challenger Aurora Lopez receiving 19 percent (26 votes).
Running to fill a two-year unexpired term on the council, Steven Lyle has claimed 55 percent of the vote (65 votes) while Michael Vanderhoof received 44 percent (55 votes).
