Bonnie Lou Bowen passed away April 16, 2021. She was born Aug. 27, 1935, in Centralia, Wash., to Frank and Leona McQuigg. She spent the majority of her young life living in Centralia and attending the Jefferson School. The family later moved to her father’s family farm in Toledo. Bonnie attended the Toledo Schools graduating from Toledo High School in 1953.
It was there that she met the love of her life, Ted Bowen. They were married Jan. 22, 1954. They celebrated 60 years of their marriage in 2015. Ted and Bonnie had one daughter, Teresa (Anil) Puri of Centralia.
As we celebrate her life we remember her creativity. Throughout the years, she enjoyed sewing, playing the piano and loved interior design. Bonnie most liked being outside tending to her plants—becoming quite the landscaper. She was also the bookkeeper for Ted’s logging company for many years. She was a cherished wife, a loving mother and a beloved grandmother.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Anil Puri; beloved grandchildren, Rashmi (Wade) Sutton of Washington, D.C., Nisha (Kaitlyn) Puri of Centralia, and Meera (Steven) Caouette of Juneau Alaska; and her great-grandchildren, Penelope Sutton, George Sutton, and Teddy Caouette; siblings, Pat (Delores) McQuigg, Colleen Root, Mike (Erin) McQuigg; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bonnie’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.st.jude.org or Dolly Parton Imagination Library via LC Rotary Foundation, P.O. Box 1011, Chehalis, Wash.
