After dropping its first game of the season last week, the Centralia Community College women’s soccer team bounced back to pick up its first wins of the season at the NWAC friendlies at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, beating Shoreline, 1-0 on Tuesday and coming back to defeat Whatcom, 4-2 on Wednesday.

The Trailblazers played a much cleaner game Tuesday, with Kennedy Bodily scoring in the first half to help the Blazers take a lead they would never relinquish.

“It just showed what the girls can do this season,” coach Clarence Gunderson said. “It felt really good. They've been working hard, it shows the program is heading in the right direction.”

The following day, the floodgates opened for the Blazers, with goals from locals Hannah Robbins and Grace Vestal to take the 4-2 victory. Centralia scored three goals in the first half, and after taking the initial lead and giving up a goal in the 19th minute, scored three straight to take the dominant win.

The Blazers take on South Puget Sound next Wednesday on the road at 4 p.m.
