Black Hills Swept by Aberdeen

The Black Hills baseball team came three outs away from its first win of the year Wednesday in the second game of its doubleheader at Aberdeen, but saw it go awry late, giving up two runs in the seventh inning to lose 4-3.

The Bobcats won the first game of the day 6-0.

Black Hills took a 3-2 lead into the seventh inning, with Truman Wimsett going out for his second inning after tossing a scoreless sixth. The Bobcats put a runner on base on a single, ran him to second, got him to third on a groundout, and scored him on an error. After another error, Wimsett balked the go-ahead run home.

None of Aberdeen’s four runs in the game were earned; the two the Bobcats scored off of starter Mark Otto came in without the benefit of a hit either.

The Wolves committed seven errors across the two games.

Otto led the way at the plate with three hits, including a double, in the two games.

Black Hills will take on Tumwater on Friday, in a game that will be played at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma.
