Soccer Roundup: Beavers Win on Golden Goal

Posted

The Tenino boys soccer team got back in the win column in dramatic fashion Friday, taking out Raymond-South Bend with a golden goal early in overtime.

Tyler Minerich came away with the deciding tally, heading in a cross from Alex Reichelderfer two minutes into the extra period to send the Beavers back east happy.

Reichelderfer got the scoring started for the Beavers early, with a goal in the fourth minute of the match, but that would be all Tenino would manage on the scoresheet, and RSB came back to tie things up, eventually forcing overtime.

Brock Maurer made four saves for the Beavers.

Tenino will be back at it a little closer to home Saturday, at Centralia.

T-Birds Lose at Aberdeen

The Tumwater boys soccer team became the latest early-season victim to a surging Aberdeen squad, falling 3-1 on Friday.

The Bobcats bagged two goals in the first half, and made it 3-0 in the 55th minute.

Tumwater salvaged a goal five minutes before full time, with Levi Tellers scoring off of an assist by Pierce Yates.

The Thunderbirds will return to action Tuesday, hosting Rochester.
