Tenino couldn’t put it all together in a straight-set loss (25-11, 25-10, 25-13) to visiting Montesano in a 1A Evergreen Conference match on Thursday.

“The scores don’t reflect how we played and competed,” Tenino coach Wanda Blanksma said. “Super proud of them and they were focused and ready to play. We tried a lot of things, we just didn’t have an answer for them.”

Brooke Bratton led the Beavers with 10 for 11 serving with a team-high 15 assists. Bratton and Malika Slassi were praised for their setting performances.

Blanksma also commended Brittany Maynard and Sophia Hussey for battling at the net, and Paige Pearson for her performance at the net after coming off the bench. Maynard finished with a team-high four blocks.

Tenino (0-9, 0-5 league) travels to Elma for another league match on Tuesday.
