Any momentum the Tenino boys soccer team may have had came to a screeching halt, as the Beavers lost 1-0 to Raymond-South Bend in a 1A Evergreen showdown.
The Riptide got their goal in the 24th minute, making the Beavers pay for a slow first half.
“They were running all over the field, and we were just watching them,” Tenino coach Trevor Fetbrandt said.
Tenino finished with six shots; four forced saves, but none found the back of the net. Brock Maurer made five saves between the sticks for the Beavers.
“They just outworked us,” Fetbrandt said. “We got a little bit desperate and started kicking the ball long and hoping a miracle would happen instead of playing our game.”
The Beavers will get a week off before hosting Eatonville next Wednesday.
