Beavers Down Eagles Twice

The Tenino baseball team stretched its winning streak to seven games Tuesday, taking down Elma twice in a 1A Evergreen League doubleheader, 8-4 and 7-3.

Easton Snider led the way at the plate across the two games, finishing 4 for 6 with three doubles, four RBIs, and four runs scored.

The Beavers struck for two runs in each of the first four innings in Game 1, keeping the line moving continuously. On the hill, Cody Strawn gave up two unearned runs in five innings and struck out 10, before giving the ball to Snider for the final two frames.

Brody Noonan also had two hits and run for the Beavers, while Will Feltus had a double, a walk, and two RBIs.

Noonan took the bump to start Game 2 for Tenino and went four innings, giving up two runs — one earned — on just one hit and striking out eight. Jack Burkhardt took over in the fifth inning and earned the save for putting up three frames in relief.

Tenino took the lead with a run in the bottom of the first, and after Elma struck for two in the top of the third to take a brief lead, the Beavers took it right back with five in the bottom half of the inning.

The Beavers are set to stay at home and face Hoquiam on Friday.
