Beavers Cage Grizzlies to Secure Season Sweep

The Tenino baseball team took care of business quickly Friday afternoon at home, winning in four innings by what could be mistaken for a football score, 24-0.

Things seemed close through the first inning, with T90 holding a one-run lead, until it wasn't. The Beavers tacked on eight runs in the second, followed by a whopping 15-run third inning. The Beavs scored 24 runs with 15 hits, and took advantage of the Grizzlies’ five errors.

Jack Burkhardt threw five strikeouts and only allowed one lone hit in his three innings on the mound for T90. Preston Snider came in to close things out for the Beavs in the fourth, allowing one hit and tossing a punchout himself.

Easton Snider went 3 for 4 for the Beavers, tallying a hit in all three innings to drive in four RBIs. Austin Gonia had a day at the plate, also driving in four RBIs, going 2 for 3.

Tenino looks to keep their momentum rolling and add an eighth and ninth W to its impressive win streak, traveling to Montesano Tuesday for a doubleheader in battle for the 1A Evergreen title.
