Bearcats Tie T-Birds in Matches Won, but Fall in Games

The W.F. West girls tennis team tied Tumwater on the road in matches won, with each team winning three, but the T-Birds earned the tiebreaker win, defeating the Bearcats in individual games won, 60-45 for the home win. 

First singles: Olivia Kee (TUM) def. Mari Ceesay (WFW) 6-0, 6-1

Second singles: Kendall Gjurasic (TUM) def. Laura Yip (WFW) 6-4, 6-3

Third singles: Viviana Ibanez (WFW) def. Zoe Giuntoli (TUM) 6-3, 6-3



First doubles: Emma Hamilton and Katelyn Wood (WFW) def. Brooke Boravec and Emily Meek (TUM) 6-3, 6-4

Second doubles: Lillian Hueffed and Emma Weerasinghe (WFW) def. Thy Nguyen and Julia Rupke (TUM) 6-4, 6-2

Third doubles: Claire Buone and Chloe Henderson (TUM) def. Jamie Bradley and Joy Pluard (WFW) 6-3, 6-1

The Bearcats will head into spring break and take some time off before returning to the court against Kelso at home on April 10.
