The W.F. West girls bowling team traveled to Morton Saturday to bowl in the third annual Mill Town Bowling Invitational.

The tournament hosted ten of the top teams in the state, including the defending 2A State Champions R.A. Long, 4A Spanaway Lake (led by Vanderbilt commit Tamia Yeager), and state contenders in Columbia River and W.F. West.

In the end, R.A. Long was crowned champions, W.F. West took second, and Columbia River finished third.

Capital's Talia Gubbe was named Tournament MVP while averaging 200 pins, and W.F. West standout Savanna Hoyt-Siler took second individually and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team by averaging 194. Bearcat leadoff bowler Aly Wiens finished ninth in the individual scoring.

The Bearcats were also able to get their junior varsity team in. W.F. West coach Rich Bunker credited his assistant coaches, including Bob Spahr, Brianna Lienhard, and Clara Bunker, who were able to help each Bearcat and run the tournament smoothly.

"We had our hands full today," Bunker said. "It turned out to be a great experience for everyone."

Bunker also commened Mill Town owner Chris Maloney, thanking him for allowing the Bearcats to run the tournament there.
