Bringing its bats out on a sunny day in Chehalis, the W.F. West baseball team defeated Aberdeen handily Wednesday afternoon in five innings, 12-2.

The Bearcats took advantage of nine hits and five Bobcat errors, with Gavin Fugate leading the way at the dish. The senior went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and four RBIs, with a pair of doubles. Connor Coleman also had a multi-hit day, going 2 for 3 with two RBIs.

On the mound, Braden Jones pitched the first four innings without allowing a run, striking out five with just three hits against him. Miles Martin stepped in to pitch the fifth and gave up two runs, both unearned, on two hits and a walk with a strikeout.

W.F. West will get a day off before playing Tumwater again this Friday on the road.
